Dr. Anthony M. Ferreria has been working in education for 20 years. He is currently the site director for ASU Local – Los Angeles. He began his career as a public school teacher in New York City with Teach for America and has spent most of his career in higher education. At NYU, he was the director of a leadership and retention program for underrepresented students of color and was the associate director for the College’s advising center. Dr. Ferreria served as an associate director for the career development center at NYU Abu Dhabi, the first liberal arts campus in the Middle East operated by a major American research university, where he created its pre-professional advising program and provided support for its first graduating class.
After working in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Ferreria became an assistant dean of students at Columbia University. His roles included overseeing academic support programs and instructing University Studies, a first-year transition course. He was also an assistant dean of students and sophomore class dean at Pomona College.
Dr. Ferreria holds a doctor of education degree from Northeastern University, master of arts in Africana studies and master of science in management from NYU as well as a master of science in teaching from Pace University. He earned a bachelor of arts in Black studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
